Steve will provide a personal, guided tour of the Udvar-Hazy Center, which showcases hundreds of historic aircraft, some of which he has personally flown, specifically the Space Shuttle Discovery and many of the Vietnam-era fighter planes including the F-8, F-4, F-14, as well as the A-6 and A-7. Other aircraft displayed in the Udvar-Hazy Center include the historic Boeing B-29 Enola Gay, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, as well as many restored planes from WWI and WWII.
A three-time Space Shuttle astronaut, Steve will share his vast expertise of the Space Shuttle Discovery, the historic orbiter housed in the Udvar-Hazy Center. He will also provide insights about launch vehicles and capsules from Mercury, Gemini and Apollo, as well as other space artifacts housed in the museum. This experience will provide a priceless history lesson from the perspective of someone who actually lived it.

About Rear Admiral Stephen Oswald, USN, Retired, and NASA Astronaut
After logging over 7,000 flight hours in over 40 different aircraft during his career as a naval aviator, Stephen Oswald joined NASA in 1984. He has spent over 33 days in space, piloting three missions aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery and Space Shuttle Endeavour. Before retiring from NASA in 2000, Oswald served as a deputy associate administrator for space operations at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C. Oswald is the recipient of the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (2), the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, the NASA Exceptional Service Medal (2), the NASA Space Flight Medal (3), and various service awards.
